What an incredible moment for our Liberty Junior High community!
Alum Brian Gutierrez is representing Mexico in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and our community couldn’t be more proud. As Mexico begins its journey today against South Africa at 3 p.m. ET on FOX, we’ll all be cheering him on.
Brian has spoken about how many young players with Mexican roots in the United States grow up supporting the national team through the influence of their families, parents, grandparents, and traditions passed down through generations. Today, he carries that pride onto the world stage.
Brian, you are an inspiration to all our BSD111 students and community. We are all cheering for you!!

What an incredible accomplishment for Kirsten and Burbank School District 111!
To compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC is an extraordinary honor in itself, representing the very best spellers from across the country. Kirsten not only rose to that level, but powered through the first two rounds of competition with determination and knowledge.
In Round 3, Kirsten tied for 96th place... just one spot shy of advancing when only 95 spellers moved on. What an unbelievably close finish!
Her perseverance, dedication, and commitment to excellence are truly remarkable. She has represented our district with pride, grace, and resilience every step of the way.
