This morning, Governor Josh Stein held his latest NC Strong Update to honor the servicemembers who keep North Carolina safe.

Joined by NCDMVA Secretary Mallette and Veterans Bridge Home CEO Blake Bourne, Governor Stein signed Executive Order No. 38 to bolster cross‑agency coordination and strengthen services for North Carolina’s military communities.

On Memorial Day, we honor all who gave their lives defending our nation. We pause to pay tribute to their patriotism. Their sacrifice is remembered, today and always.

Reminder: Pender County Government offices will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

We pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

County offices will reopen during regular business hours on Tuesday, May 26.

We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful holiday.

Flags statewide will be lowered to half-mast in remembrance of those who gave their lives in service to our nation and in recognition of their dedication to freedom, duty, and bravery. The deadline is approaching for the Property Tax Relief Program.

Senior citizens, disabled individuals and disabled veterans may qualify for property tax relief, but applications and all required documents must be submitted by June 1, 2026.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
