***Underage Compliance Checks***

Eight stores were cited in Pender County on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 for selling alcohol to minors.

On Tuesday, Vice and Narcotics officers with the Pender County Sheriff's Office conducted an underage compliance check at a total of 17 stores throughout the county. The North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) assisted with the operation.

The following stores were cited for selling alcohol to minors:

• Hilltop Grocery - 21170 US Highway 17, Hampstead NC 28443

• BP Express Mart - 13386 NC Highway 50, Surf City 28445

• Adam's Mini Mart - 201 US Highway 117, Burgaw NC 28425

• Donnie's Mini Mart - 3381 US Highway 117, Burgaw NC 28425

• Dollar General - 24734 NC Highway 210, Currie NC 28435

• Ya Ya Mini Mart - 28595 Blueberry Road, Currie NC 28435

• Atkinson Mini Mart - 126 West Church Street, Atkinson NC
28421

• Penderlea Mini Mart - 4624 NC Highway 11, Willard NC 28478

**Citizens Academy- (Location: Hampstead)

The Pender County Sheriff's Office will host a Citizens Academy beginning Tuesday, April 19, 2022. The Academy will run for 8 weeks and will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm. The Academy will conclude Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
**Classes will be held at the Topsail High School- Media Center, 245 N St. John Church Road, Hampstead, NC 28443. **
