Are you working with a school, community, or nonprofit garden this fall? Coast of Maine’s Growing Good Program may be able to help.

Through Growing Good, we partner with local garden retailers to provide qualifying schools and nonprofit organizations with 10 cubic feet of Coast of Maine organic soil. It’s a simple way to help gardens get established, refresh raised beds, prepare for fall planting, or get ready for next spring.

We are excited to be part of the Great Southeast Pollinator Census, which is August 21 and 22. Check out the wonderful pollinator exhibit at the Pender County Libraries in Burgaw and Hampstead. This exhibit was created by Karrie Gonzalez, the 4H and Horticultural Assistant at our Pender County Cooperative Extension. In addition, our Pender County libraries have placed books on pollinators at the exhibit for your pleasure, and Erin Crites at the Burgaw library has created a scavenger hunt within the library for anyone to wants to participate. See our prior posts for where to participate (libraries, Greater Topsail Community Garden, or pick up a form and count in your own garden).
