Pender County Utilities’ 2025 Annual Water Quality Report is now available. The report provides an overview of the county’s drinking water sources, routine testing, water quality results and ongoing efforts to provide customers with safe and dependable drinking water.

Pender County Utilities continues to monitor more than 150 contaminants in accordance with state and federal requirements and remains committed to transparency, water quality and customer service.

💡 Do you need assistance with your energy bill?

Pender County DSS is accepting applications for the Crisis Intervention Program, a federally funded assistance program available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applicants must be Pender County residents and provide proof of income for all household members, the name of their energy company and account number. Other verification may be requested.

The filing period for Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor will be open from noon on Monday, June 8, 2026, through 5 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026.

Two seats are open for this position during the filing period. The filing fee is $5.

Fees must be paid by check, money order or cash. Cash is only accepted for fees under $50 and must be exact change.

⏰ Reminder: The Pender County Tax Office will be open tomorrow, Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to assist residents with property appeals and exemption applications.

If you need help filing an appeal or completing an exemption application, staff will be available to answer questions and help guide you through the process.

For appeals, please bring any supporting documentation, such as recent comparable sales, proof of structural or physical issues, photos and other relevant information.

For exemptions, please bring proof of your 2025 income.

🎉 Yesterday was a special day for Pender County!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house celebrating the new Pender County Health and Human Services building in Burgaw.

We are grateful to the Pender County Board of Commissioners, past and present, fellow elected officials, DHHS staff from across the state, Pender County staff, past and present, community partners, residents, municipal partners from across Pender County and everyone who joined us to celebrate this important milestone.

We are grateful to the Town of Burgaw, the home of this new facility, for welcoming this celebration in their community.

We also extend our thanks to Bobbitt and everyone who helped bring this project to life.

This new facility represents a continued investment in the people, programs and services that support Pender County residents every day.
