Pender County 4-H and Old McNally Farm will host the 2026 4-H Goat Showmanship Show from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 24, at McNally Farm in Rocky Point. Participants should arrive by 8:30 a.m.

The event will feature showmanship, obstacle and costume classes. Goats will be available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants in the costume class should bring their own costume.

Registration is $15 per youth and includes ribbons and prizes. Space is limited, and participants must be enrolled in 4-H Online by Oct. 12. No on-site registration will be available. Parents must remain with their children throughout the program.

Congratulations to Pender County Commissioner Brent Springer on his election to the NCACC Board of Directors for the 2026-27 term.

Commissioner Springer will serve as District 4 director, representing Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover and Pender counties. In this role, he will help guide the association’s priorities and bring a strong southeastern regional voice to discussions affecting counties across North Carolina.

His election builds on his previous service on NCACC Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee, as well as his recent appointments to three National Association of Counties committees.
