Disability Pride Month is an opportunity to promote awareness, challenge misconceptions, celebrate diversity, and recognize the importance of inclusion and accessibility in our communities and workplaces.

As we work to strengthen our profession and the communities we serve, we are reminded that true inclusion means creating environments where everyone is respected, valued, and able to participate fully.

Dear MPA Members,

The MPA Board is seeking a member to fill the vacant Audio/Visuals Committee position. This is an opportunity to become more involved with the Association while using your technical skills to help make our educational events and board meetings a success.

In this role, you will work closely with the Education & Training Committee to ensure presentations have the audio/visual support they need to run smoothly. This can be anything from setting up presentation technology, to helping troubleshoot an occasional PowerPoint issue, in which you will play an important role in creating a seamless experience for both the presenters and attendees.

Responsibilities include:
• Coordinating audio/visual needs for MPA educational events and meetings.
• Assisting presenters with presentation technology as needed.
• Working collaboratively with the Education & Training Committee.
• Serving as an active member of the MPA Board.

A successful candidate should be available to attend the annual conference in person and participate in board meetings as needed.

If you are interested in serving in this role, please submit a brief letter of interest to me by noon on July 29, 2026. The Board will review all submissions, appoint a candidate, and notify all applicants by August 3, 2026. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the position before applying, please don't hesitate to reach out. I have had the privilege of serving in this role for the past four years and would be happy to answer any questions and share more of what the position entails.
