Highline Special Needs Parent Teacher Association

Highline Special Needs Parent Teacher Association PTA representing the special needs students of the Highline School District That equals approximately 16.8% of the entire district student body.

During the 2011-2012 school year, the Highline School District had approximately 2,100 (11.6%) special education students and over 900 (5.2%) with a 504 Plan. Our teachers and students in the special needs programs require assistance. Funding is continually being cut to schools and special education programs. We want to help the teachers succeed and enjoy teaching our children by giving them some

of the tools they need. We want to help our students succeed. We need to find out how these children touch the lives of others and get them advocating, as well as parents, teachers and families. Unlike a traditional unit PTA, the HSNPTA will be across schools and parents will be in the same HSNPTA no matter what school their child attends.
