Notice: Dumpsters Available for Non-Flood Damaged Items Until September 11, 2026
After the spring 2026 dumpster days, the fiscal court agreed that demand existed for a summer dumpster days event. We originally planned for that event to occur around the third week of July. The June flooding event made that nearly impossible. Thus, the court agreed on Monday to provide self-service dumpsters from now until September 11, 2026. For the last two months, dumpsters have been available for flood-damaged items. For the next month, any item that would be permitted at a normal dumpster days will be eligible for the dumpsters (even if it’s not a flooded item). The only catch is that you’ll need to either unload it yourself or make plans to have someone help you.
The county road department is trying hard to get back on schedule from the flooding and they are making progress. The court wanted to be able to provide the dumpsters as we would during dumpster days, but do so in a way that doesn’t pull the road department away at a crucial time. The balance that was struck was self-service dumpsters.
The dumpsters are monitored by security cameras. Dumpsters are available outside the gate and can be accessed 24 hours a day. If you miss the dumpster with your items, please pick them back up and throw them in. As with any dumpster days, you may not bring tires, hazardous waste, household (food or bathroom) waste, or any type of dead animal.
Mark your calendars for September 11 and 12. At the close of the self-service dumpster term, we’ll be wrapping things up with our fall dumpster days event. We are bringing back two full days where our team will be available to help unload at the fall event. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our office at 270-864-3444.
