Meet Bella, a 4-year-old Chihuahua mix ❤

She might hide under your bed. She might avoid eye contact. She might bark when she's scared. She might be nippy if she's startled. She might not trust you right away.

But if you give her time, patience and space to decompress, you'll see a different dog emerge. A loyal dog. A loving dog. A dog who finally feels safe.

Right now, she's scared, and we don't blame her. The shelter life can be really overwhelming for some dogs.

The dog days of summer are here and we're embracing the season by showing off an adoptable dog from the Burleson Animal Shelter.

In this episode, Burleson Parks and Recreation Assistant Recreation Manager Hannah Pazos explores the spaces around the BRiCk alongside Cowboy, a 2-year-old Heeler mix. Cowboy is kid-friendly, loves to cuddle and go on adventures.

Check out Chip, an 11-year-old Chihuahua mix who has officially decided that the shelter lifestyle is entirely too loud for her taste.

This sweet senior lady is feeling very nervous in the kennel and is counting down the minutes until she can curl up in a quiet, peaceful home. Because she values her peace and tranquility, she’ll do best in a household with older kids who understand her need for a calm environment.
