🌟 TEAM TUESDAY | Meet Bruce Basden 🌟

This week’s TEAM Tuesday spotlight features a leader who has been part of the Chisholm Trail 100 Club since the very beginning — Secretary Bruce Basden!

Bruce is a founding member of the Chisholm Trail 100 Club and has faithfully served on the Board for 16 years. During that time, he has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as President, and he currently serves as Secretary. Bruce continues to play an active role in advancing the Club’s mission through his service on the Executive Committee; as well as being an annual sponsor for the "100 Shots for the 100 Club" Clay Shoot; and earlier this year providing a significant donation to establish the "Basden Family Endowed Scholarship" - which will provide an annual $8,000 scholarship for dependent's of the Club's First Responders.

A respected local businessman and longtime community leader, Bruce is Chairman of the Board of Basden Steel, as well as a partner in Burleson and Joshua Storage.

Bruce has called Burleson home since 1963, and giving back to the community has long been a priority for him and the entire Basden family. Their commitment to service extends through numerous charitable efforts.

The Basden family has a deep appreciation for First Responders and is passionate about supporting those who serve throughout Johnson, Somervell, and Hood Counties.

For more than 15 years, Bruce has helped shape the Chisholm Trail 100 Club into the organization it is today. We are incredibly grateful for his leadership, generosity, and steadfast commitment to our First Responders and their families.

It was a great night of honoring our First Responders! 🚒🚔🚑

We appreciate everyone who attended the 2026 Annual Membership Meeting to support the Chisholm Trail 100 Club’s mission to “Stand in the gap for our First Responders and their families in times of tragedy”. It was a night of record attendance, great networking, providing updates on the Club’s past fiscal year, and an awesome opportunity to recognize and show our appreciation for our community’s First Responders!

2026 First Responder Award winners included:

* CT100 Club Lifetime Achievement - Chief Dow Winkler, Rendon Volunteer Fire Dept

* CT100 Club Lifetime Achievement - Asst. Chief (retired) Doug Sandifer, Burleson Police Department

* CT100 Club Clifford Taylor Award: Sgt. Lanny Boone, Deputy Anthony Jackson and Deputy Code Stone (Johnson County Sheriff’s Office) for their courage and bravery during a shooting incident on April 8, 2026

*VIP Challenge Cup - Bono VFD - Station 70

Meet Chisholm Trail 100 Club's 2024-2026 Vice President Mike Peacock!

A Life Member of the Club, Mike has dedicated more than a decade of service to supporting the mission of honoring and protecting the First Responders who serve Johnson, Hood, and Somervell counties.

As Vice President, Mike serves on the Executive Committee and has led two of the Club's most important efforts as Chair of the Clay Shoot Committee and Chair of the Disbursement Committee, helping ensure the Club continues to provide meaningful support to our local First Responders and their families. Mike is President-Elect, and will be taking on his new role as President of CT100 this month.

Before his current role, Mike served our communities as a Paramedic for 22 years. Today, he continues his commitment to public service as the City Manager for the City of Joshua, Texas, where he has proudly served for the past 17 years.

Mike and his wife, Michelle, exemplify a life dedicated to family, community, and service.

Thank you, Mike, for your leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the Chisholm Trail 100 Club and the First Responders we proudly serve.

Meet Chisholm Trail 100 Club President, Mike Erinakes!

For the past 15 years, Mike Erinakes has been a driving force behind the Chisholm Trail 100 Club, helping ensure our local First Responders and their families have the support they deserve when tragedy strikes.

As President, Mike has faithfully served on the Executive Committee, Clay Shoot Committee, Scholarship Committee, and Disbursement Committee, while also hosting the Club's annual VIP Party, the signature event held in conjunction with our annual 100 Shots for the 100 Club Clay Shoot.

Mike's professional career is as diverse as it is impressive, spanning law enforcement, commercial diving, offshore shipping, the oil and gas industry, and climate-controlled storage facilities. Throughout his career, he has consistently used his business experience, leadership, and resources to advance the Club's mission.

His passion for serving those who serve our communities goes far beyond words. Mike actively leverages his business relationships and community connections to strengthen the Chisholm Trail 100 Club's ability to provide $100,000 accidental death and serious bodily injury benefits, scholarships for First Responder families, and benevolence assistance when it's needed most.

Congratulations Deputy Chief Doug Sandifer for your extraordinary career and service with the Burleson Police Department! Thank you for 42 years of serving our community!

Please join us in congratulating and honoring Deputy Chief Doug Sandifer on his retirement after 42 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Burleson.

Deputy Chief Sandifer began his career with the Burleson Police Department in 1984 and retires today leaving behind a remarkable legacy of leadership, integrity, and compassion. Throughout his distinguished career, he exemplified the very best of law enforcement and public service.

Among his many accomplishments, Deputy Chief Sandifer is especially proud of helping lead the Burleson Police Department through the process of becoming an accredited agency through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Under his leadership, Burleson became the first law enforcement agency in Texas to achieve CALEA accreditation in 1987—a milestone that continues to reflect the department’s commitment to excellence.

Over the course of his career, Deputy Chief Sandifer earned numerous awards and recognitions, including multiple Meritorious Service Awards, the Medal of Valor, and Supervisor of the Year. He also served as the department’s Public Information Officer from 1993 to 2000, strengthening relationships between the police department and the community he so faithfully served.

Deputy Chief Sandifer quickly rose through the ranks and has served as Deputy Chief since 2013. His influence extends far beyond his title. His leadership is reflected in the culture of our department, and remarkably, he hired every police officer currently serving with the Burleson Police Department.

While his career has been defined by professional accomplishments, his greatest impact has been the people he mentored, the lives he touched, and the example he set for future generations of law enforcement professionals.

His legacy will continue to live on through the men and women of the Burleson Police Department and the community he served so faithfully for more than four decades.

Well done, good and faithful servant. Thank you for your unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to Burleson. We wish you a well-deserved and happy retirement.

Honored to present a Chisholm Trail 100 Club Benevolence disbursement to the family of Burleson Police Department’s Detective Mark Pate.

Pate dedicated over 20 years to law enforcement; serving his community with courage and professionalism in a variety of specialized roles. Throughout his distinguished career, he worked in Patrol, STOP, School Resource Officer (SRO), Auto Task Force, SWAT, Accident Investigation, and as a Detective. His fellow officers knew him as someone they could depend on, and the community benefited greatly from his experience, leadership, and integrity.

Pate was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was defined by service, loyalty, and love for his family. No matter how demanding his career became, his greatest pride and purpose were found at home with those he loved most.

From an early age, Pate demonstrated leadership, integrity, and a commitment to helping others. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was a proud member of the Order of the Arrow, experiences that helped shape the values he carried throughout his life—honor, selflessness, and service.

While Pate’s professional accomplishments were many, he would have wanted to be remembered most for the man he was to his family. He was a true family man who never missed an opportunity to be present for the people he loved. Whether it was a school event, holiday gathering, sporting event, birthday celebration, or simply spending time together, Pate made family his priority. He showed his love not only through words but through his constant presence, support, and devotion.

Pate leaves behind a legacy of service, strength, kindness, and unwavering love. His impact continues to be felt through the lives he touched, the community he served, and the family he treasured above all else.

The sole purpose of the Chisholm Trail 100 Club is to “Stand in the Gap for our First Responders and Their Families in Times of Tragedy”. We are grateful to all those who support our mission and who helped make this presentation to the family a reality.
