Right now, human beings are being held in terrible conditions because a private company wants to cut corners on food and medical care to maximize profits from their billion dollar government contract. DHS needs to let elected officials conduct oversight and we need to stop funding these atrocities.

While it shouldn’t have gotten this far, this is welcome news. It shows that when Republicans in Congress tell Trump no, they can stop him.

Americans will judge them based on whether they use this power to stop Trump’s other disasters, like the war in Iran.

Trump's proposal has drawn bipartisan pushback in the GOP-led House and Senate.

Shoutout to Representative Joyce Beatty.

As an ex officio member of the Kennedy Center board, she sued over Trump’s move to name the cultural institution after himself and close it for “renovations” without the input of the American people… and she won!
