Burlington is located at the crossroads of Plank, Peplow, French and Burlington Roads, all County routes. Incorporated in 1906, Burlington is a small but growing town in a rural setting with great schools, nice folks, and large open spaces. Parks, recreation trails and ample open space give this growing town plenty of breathing room.

Sen. Dave Syverson and Rep. Jeff Keicher are hosting a Property Tax Exemption Event on August 20 in Hampshire. This event will help constituents file available homestead exemptions in Kane County.

This is a walk-in event—no appointment is necessary.

Who: Senator Dave Syverson and Representative Jeff Keicher, and Kane County Supervisor of Assessments Mark Armstrong
When: Thursday, August 20 | 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
Where: Senator Dave Syverson and Representative Jeff Keicher’s District Office

Services Available:
Assistance with filing homestead exemptions

What to Bring:
Driver’s license or State ID showing current address

Additional documents may be required depending on exemption type, including:

Senior Citizen: ID with birthdate
Senior Freeze: 2025 Federal Tax Return for all household members
Persons with Disabilities: Proof of disability (State ID, SSI, or physician statement)
Veterans with Disabilities: VA disability letter showing a combined rating of 30% or more
Returning Veterans: DD214 or travel orders
