🔥 Burn Ban Lifted – Town of Burlington Fire Department 🔥

The Town of Burlington Fire Department would like to inform residents that the burn ban has officially been lifted, as fire danger levels are now considered moderate. This decision is based on current conditions and the recommendations of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, which we follow to help ensure the safety of our community.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Your safety remains our number one priority.

While conditions have improved, we want to remind everyone that certain risks still exist. There are areas throughout the Town of Burlington with standing water, and while grass and foliage are beginning to green up, much of the dead vegetation from winter—including leaves and debris—remains dry. Combined with recent winds, these materials dry out and can ignite.
Please continue to use caution when burning and remain aware of your surroundings.

Where have we been, and what have we been doing?

The members of the Town of Burlington Fire Department have been busy doing what we do best serving our community and helping our neighbors. Over the past weeks, our members have responded to calls throughout the Town of Burlington while also assisting our partners at the City of Burlington Fire and Rescue and Rochester Fire and Rescue. No matter where the call comes from, our commitment remains the same: show up, give 100 percent, and bring our best to every call.

A big thank you to all our brothers and sisters that came and helped out at our brush fire.

These volunteers dedicate countless hours away from their families, work, and personal lives to train, respond, and serve. Whether it’s a late-night alarm, a medical call, or helping a neighboring department in their time of need, these teams continue to step up and answer the call.
If this is something you’re interested in and you want to give back to your community, we would love to hear from you. The Town of Burlington Fire Department is always looking for dedicated individuals who want to make a difference as a volunteer.

For 15 years, we have been incredibly blessed by the support of this amazing community. What started as a simple fundraiser has grown into something we never could have imagined — and it’s all because of YOU.
On behalf of the Town of Burlington Fire Department, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our supporters, lane sponsors, bowlers, and the many businesses and individuals who donated such generous raffle prizes. Your continued support is what makes this event such a tremendous success year after year.
A very special thank you goes to our outstanding partners at Towne and Country Lanes. We are truly grateful for the great partnership we’ve built over the years. The staff was outstanding — as usual — and we are honored to have the same dedicated team working alongside us each year. Their professionalism, friendliness, and hard work help make this event run smoothly and feel like home.
To everyone who bowled, sponsored a lane, purchased raffle tickets, donated prizes, volunteered time, or simply came out to support us — thank you. Your generosity directly supports the members of the TOBFD and helps us continue serving our community with pride.
Here’s to 15 amazing years — and many more to come!

As we move through the changing seasons here in Wisconsin, continued training remains a top priority for the members of the Town of Burlington Fire Department. Each season presents unique challenges, and winter provides valuable opportunities to train in cold weather and on ice conditions so we are prepared when emergencies happen.
Taking advantage of safe, controlled training environments allows our members to sharpen skills, test equipment, and build teamwork in realistic conditions. The work we put in now ensures we are ready to serve when our community needs us most.
🚨 Ice Safety Reminder: No ice is safe ice. Conditions can change rapidly, especially when temperatures fluctuate from cold to warm and rain is added to the mix. Ice thickness can vary greatly from one area to another, and what appears solid may not be. Please use extreme caution near rivers, lakes, and ponds, and stay aware of changing weather patterns.
Train hard. Stay prepared. Stay safe.

Dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills are moving into our area. Frostbite can occur in minutes on exposed skin, and hypothermia is a serious risk during prolonged exposure.

🧤 Protect Yourself & Your Family
• Dress in layers — hat, gloves, scarf, and insulated boots
• Limit time outdoors, even for short trips
• Bring pets inside — they are just as vulnerable
• Check on elderly neighbors, those without reliable heat, and anyone living alone
• Use caution with space heaters — keep them away from combustibles.

We have included the list of the 2026 Racine County Warming centers for around the area. Please stay safe.
