Hello 1976 Grayhounds!
Just a friendly reminder that our 50th reunion is only a little over a month away. We really want to see you on September 11th & 12th!
REGISTRATION COSTS GO UP AUGUST 1st
BLOCKED HOTEL ROOMS GET RELEASED AUGUST 11th
Our main reminder objective, at this late date, is to get registration numbers in so we can plan for and order sufficient food quantities.
Please don’t put it off any longer, it’ll be here before you know it.
Please find the registration form on this page and get it in the mail. If you can't print the form, just include the information needed on a piece of paper and get it in the mail along with your payment. Or Venmo is another option.
Rooms are still available at both hotels. Just make sure you tell the clerk the class block and use the code shown on the registration form. If you’ve reserved and didn’t use the code, you may be charged more.
Friday night is at the Eagles club (directly across from the Bees Stadium). Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Saturday is at the Burlington Golf Club on Sunnyside where we will enjoy a buffet dinner. Saturday is NOT a formal event; it is just the venue we reserved. The invitation says "business casual" not formal attire, think church or funeral. Your "classy committee" will definitely not be decked out in sequins. No judgment or contest for attire is planned. The BGC atmosphere is just a step up from the Eagles and we hope to take a class picture. Most importantly, we especially want your presence and for you to be comfortable.
BHS has undergone a 45-million-dollar renovation over
the past 2 years. It is well worth the time to see how amazing it looks. It starts at 9 am and should take about 2 hours.
Steve Colburn has generously volunteered to set up a golf outing on Saturday for anyone who would like to participate. You should be able to do both the tour and golf.
Message from Steve:
We will plan the golf outing at Flint Hills with a start time of 11:30. It will be a 2 man Best Ball format. If you have a preferred partner please text me at (918) 899-8322. We will play in groups of 4. Cost will be $40 along with you have to buy me one beer.
WHETHER you have never been to any of our class reunions or have been to all of them, please consider coming to our 50th! Don't say "Oh I'll go to the next one"...nothing is promised at our age.
Some people change a lot and some look better than ever. But we all have this one thing in common and it's been a half century since we've been together. Maybe who you didn't talk to then might be someone interesting to talk to or get to know now. In our late teens, we were anxious to get out and see where adulthood took us. Now that we are senior adults, let's find out where everyone ended up (and no, we don't mean how many meds, knees, hips, hearing aids, etc. to compare.)
If you have any questions, please email us or message us through this class page. You can also text or call 319-759-8246 (Teresa Schiefer Prall) or 319-759-4411 (Kela Lehman).
