Check out the new 2026 Northwest Vermont Grown map that will be distributed to various farms and businesses around Franklin and Grand Isle Counties! Anna Purtell, Gleaning & Food Access Coordinator surveyed and catalogued Franklin County while South Hero Land Trust helped put together the Grand Isle Counties.

This collaboration among all these wonderful farms and businesses is what makes Vermonters have access to locally grown greens, vegetables, and other products through the hard work of the farmers and growers in the Champlain Valley.

Thank you to South Hero Land Trust, Healthy Roots Collaborative, and LCIEDC for their help and support of creating this amazing map! Make sure to grab one if you're in Franklin/Grand Isle at a local business!

We wanted to thank Ben & Jerry's for helping us out in Grand Isle as part of their 'Community Action' initiative in collaboration with Healthy Roots Collaborative! Volunteers from the Ben & Jerry's factory and other departments came to help clean up plant beds and help seed half an acre of winter squash for West Shore Farm, one of our grow-for-donation partners.

Thank you to Ben & Jerry's for their continued volunteerism to help alleviate hunger across Vermont!

We had a nice and sunny day of gleaning with the UVM Health Community Health Improvement Team this week at Shelburne Farms! They were joined by our gleaning coordinator, Anna Purtell and Samantha Green, volunteer coordinator for Feeding Champlain Valley to help glean some fresh veggies and other nutritious leafy greens for distribution at our food sites!

Thank you to the UVM Health Team for coming together to help nurture our community.

Thank you to our wonderful community of donors, guests, volunteers, and partners for attending the “Full Hearts, Full Plates” event, a celebration of Feeding Champlain Valley and the Community Resource Center’s renovated site in Burlington on Thursday, June 4th.

This expanded office and dining space, as well as raised beds and green space, will allow CVOEO staff and volunteers to continue supporting marginalized Vermonters in need through meal service and a daytime warming and resource center. As we continue to expand and grow, our roots will always be tied to the Old North End and none of this work could be done without the support and generosity from you.

Gleaning season has started and the harvests have been plentiful! Our team out in Chittenden County for Healthy Roots Collaborative have been working alongside the Jericho-Underhill Lions Club to help provide fresh vegetables for our many clients across Vermont. You can learn more about the Jericho-Underhill Lions Club and our gleaning efforts across the Champlain Valley at their stall at the Winooski Farmers Market.

Interested in gleaning in Chittenden, Franklin, or Grand Isle? You can join in on the fun by volunteering with Feeding Champlain Valley. Apply online on our website or through our linktree in our bio. You can also contact Anna Purtell at [email protected]

We are only days away from the unveiling of our newly renovated Old North End location on June 4th, at 4pm and we cannot wait to introduce the community to this new and improved space. This project could not have been completed without the generous support from community members and groups and we in turn, want to give you an all-access pass to learn more about the facility!

You'll have the chance to take a guided tour of the renovated building and enjoy light bites and refreshments, courtesy of our Culinary team using food and items right from the food shelves! The tour will take you through our receiving area, where we receive and distribute food with the help from our volunteers, the market area where people can shop for their groceries and finally, the reception area where you can chat with Feeding Champlain Valley and CVOEO leadership about the work that we do across the Champlain Valley.

Don't forget to grab a sweet treat from our Good Food Truck on your way out as well! You can RSVP for your free entry through our linktree in our bios or through this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/feeding-champlain-valley-full-plates-full-hearts-tickets-1987695530840?aff=oddtdtcreator.

We cannot to introduce you to this wonderful space!

Feeding Champlain Valley is where it is today through the effort and dedication of our incredible volunteers who work diligently across Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, and Addison Counties. Just within this month, volunteers have clocked over 663.5 hours across the various sites!

The work that our volunteers do is immensely important to the operations of getting food to people through food boxes, home deliveries, and ensuring each visit to one of our food sites helps provide essential items as part of their shopping experience. We want to thank the work that our volunteers do, we don't say it enough but, the time and dedication that they give us helps bring food security across Vermont!

We are currently looking to hire an Intake and Distribution Coordinator for Chittenden County. This role ensures that food gets where it’s needed most—coordinating distribution efforts and working closely with our Volunteer Coordinator and Food Shelf Supervisor to keep volunteer support strong. They also advocate for federal nutrition programs and help gather the information we rely on for planning and reporting.

Using Pantrysoft, they manage client intake, collect key demographic data, and generate reports on the households and individuals we serve. They also lead community surveys on housing, transportation, nutrition, and other anti-poverty issues, and they represent us at Food Security Network meetings and collaborations with hunger relief partners.

Apply online on cvoeo.org or via our linktree in our bios.
