🏃🏻‍♀️🏞️ This past weekend, folks across the county joined Alamance Parks to celebrate the debut of B. Everett Jordan Elementary School’s new Athletic Park project in Southern Alamance.

From ballfield renovations and updated field lighting to new shelters and concession buildings, this project will ensure both B. Everett Jordan students and folks in Southern Alamance have access to high-quality athletic facilities needed for healthy living.

Impact Alamance was proud to contribute $50,000 toward this project to create a new community walking track, which circles the perimeter of the school’s baseball field and provides rural communities in the area with a safe, accessible space to stay active and enjoy outdoor recreation.

🗣🌱Young folks in our community want to share their thoughts, ideas, hopes, and fears. They have a lot to say, but up until recently, there wasn’t a space dedicated to hearing them out.

That’s what led Youth Wellness team leads Jocelyn Williams and Kelly Mendenhall to develop MyVoice, a platform created with the expressed intent of uplifting youth voices in Alamance County.

MyVoice has started a movement, bridging gaps between local youth, stakeholders, and community leaders, and making room for real understanding to take root and grow into meaningful action.

Our team gathered at Elon University earlier this week for the annual Elon Year of Service Signing Ceremony—marking the transition of our Year of Service Fellows. We honored our outgoing fellows, Abby, Anna, and Jasmine, for a year of dedicated service to Alamance County and welcomed incoming fellows Lauren, Lily, and Emily as they begin their own journeys of impact.

With remarks from mentors and community partners, the ceremony celebrated the 2025-2026 fellows, who will complete their service on May 29. Each has made a lasting impact, and it’s been an honor to witness their growth as professionals and leaders.

Looking ahead, our 2026-2027 fellows will continue this work in our priority areas: healthier, smarter, and stronger. We can’t wait for you to meet them as they begin this next chapter of community-centered service!
