Last week, Chief Phelps had breakfast with some true UVM Police Services legends, individuals whose leadership and service helped build the department we know today.

Together, that’s an incredible 237 years of service to the University of Vermont.

Yesterday, UVM Police Services Chief Jim Phelps and Deputy Chief Jay Lawson participated in a Green Dot Bystander Intervention training at UVM.

We’re grateful to the UVM Center for Health & Wellbeing and the Green Dot Steering Committee for hosting and leading this important initiative.

Green Dot is all about recognizing when something isn’t right and knowing how to step in safely. Programs like this help build a campus where students, families, staff, and community members all play a role in looking out for one another.

UVM Police Services is proud to be part of that effort.
