Alamance Athletics' Intro to Sports is BACK this Fall!

We are excited to offer two versions of the Intro to Sports program for the Fall season. For participants between the ages of 3-4 years old we will be offering a skills based program. This program will introduce kids to the basic foundation of sports through kicking, throwing, catching, running, chasing and scoring. For participants between the ages of 5-6 years old we will be offering a multisport program. This program will provide beginner skills to sports such as baseball, soccer, football, and basketball. Sports equipment will be provided, all that you have to do is be ready to have fun with your little one as they learn!

These programs will be offered at two locations, so you can pick the one that is most convenient for your family! You will be able to choose from either the Pleasant Grove Community Center or the B. Everett Jordan Elementary Ballfield.

Registration is now open for the next adventure with Alamance Outdoors, Wildlife Detectives, happening Thursday, October 1st from 6pm-7:30pm! Get ready to step into the shoes of a real wildlife detective. In this hands-on session, young explorers will learn how to identify the amazing animals of the Carolina Piedmont using the clues they leave behind. From tracks and feathers to calls and habitats, kids will discover how every creature has its own “signature” in nature.

Together, we’ll practice spotting patterns, comparing features, and using field guides like real naturalists. Along the way, explorers will uncover how animals survive, how they fit into our local ecosystem, and why protecting their habitats keeps our Carolina Piedmont healthy and full of life.

While this is a free program, registration is required. For more information and to register, click "Sign Up" below!

That's a wrap on the 2026 Summer Camp season as many Alamance County schools are welcoming their students back today. We had a blast with campers this year as we offered a few camp options such as Outdoor Adventure Camp, Co-Ed Sports Camp, and Cooking Camp. The Summer included various activities such as hiking, kayaking, meeting birds of prey, archery lessons, an introduction to disc golf, and learning new cooking skills.

We're wishing all of the students and school staff the best of luck on their first day of the new school year! We're already looking forward to even more fun next Summer! 🌳🌞

Join us for the Haw River Camp & Clean happening Saturday-Sunday, September 19-20! This Fall we will be doing a water only cleanup. In this popular event we will get to do a little recreation in our conservation. We will be paddling from the AO Paddle Access to Shallow Ford Natural Area and then camping overnight. On Sunday morning we will paddle the rest of the way to The Valley Golf course paddle access. All along the way we will be picking up trash utilizing extra boats as barges. We will have grabbers and gloves for all participants.
