The Vermont House is scheduled to vote on a powerful amendment to H.933 (Miscellaneous Tax Bill) THIS AFTERNOON!

Congress and the President have taken our hard-earned tax dollars to give massive tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations. Tell your representatives to vote YES on an amendment to recapture a portion of those federal tax breaks to raise state revenue for needed investments in Vermont.

RAD VT is a member of the Fiar Share for Vermont Coalition, which has been advocating for policy like this all legislative session. Although not included in the bill that passed out of committee, our representatives have an unexpected opportunity to vote on a floor amendment to add two new tax brackets for income over $500,000 and income over $1 million.

Right now, Vermont’s housing crisis is at a breaking point.

Policy decisions have led us to an unprecedented housing crisis, and as a result, Vermont is currently facing the 4th highest rate of homelessness in the country. Instead of providing relief, the legislature is considering H. 772—a bill that would fast-track evictions and strip away essential tenant protections for thousands of our neighbors.

Lawmakers are deciding the fate of H. 772 today. We’re calling on our lawmakers to prioritize people over displacement.

Since January, we've been hosting regular Zoom calls for Vermonters to build community, skill up, and take action to protect our democracy.

This month's Federal Action Call is this Thursday, Septmeber 25, at 6pm on Zoom.

Special guest Megan Essaheb, Director of Federal Affairs at People's Action, will provide updates on the pro-billionaire Continuing Resolution funding bill currently making its way through Congress.

During the call we'll also hear updates from RAD's Federal Resistance Team, debrief recent Vermont actions, and talk about how Vermonters can plug into resistance efforts.

Wuendy is a Migrant Justice member, farmworker, and caretaker for 7 kids. Two years ago, the community rallied to her defense to stop her deportation, but she has been asked to report to ICE THIS FRIDAY. There is a strong possibility that she'll be detained during this appointment. Turn out to show solidarity and decrease the chance she'll be taken into custody . .
