Ken Smith and WRAL TV I just heard some disturbing information. I pray that it’s not true, and I look for clarity from both the station and Mr. smith.

One of the residents in the town of Enfield—where I’m mayor—shared a screen grab of you all’s coverage of Mr. Neville’s death (which happened in Enfield). The resident purports that during that coverage Mr. Smith chuckled as he was reporting.

If this happened there needs to be a clear statement apologizing to the family and friends of Mr. Neville. There should also be an explanation of how this happened during such sensitive coverage.

The statement should also explain what steps are being taken to ensure there is more dignity applied in future instances, when covering the death of a human.

Politico did a profile on our work pushing back against right wing narratives on the Latino vote.

"The first thing we need to do is acknowledge that people are hurting...The reality is that gas is still too damn high; small businesses are struggling to stay open; people have a difficulty between choosing over health care and their mortgage.
