The National Weather Service has placed portions of Central North Carolina, including Alamance County, under a Marginal to Slight Risk (Level 1-2 of 5) for severe thunderstorms today.

• Scattered to numerous thunderstorms developing this afternoon and continuing through the evening.
• A few storms could become severe.
• Primary Threat: Damaging wind gusts
• Secondary Threat: Large hail
• Tornado threat remains very low.
