Winnmere Area Water Service Interruption – June 25

The Water Department will be performing necessary infrastructure improvements in the Winnmere neighborhood on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Residents in the affected area may experience a water service interruption beginning at approximately 11:00 PM. Water service is anticipated to be restored by 7:00 AM or sooner, though an exact restoration time can't be determined until work is underway.

Please note that some households may experience discolored water after service is restored. If this occurs, running a cold-water faucet or spigot for a short period of time should help clear the water.

📍 See the attached map for affected streets.

Questions? Contact the Department of Public Works during business hours at 781-270-1674.

* Important Public Notice *

Recently the streets listed below suffered impactful sewer blocks. This is due to disposing of grease down toilets and/or sinks. Disposing of grease, cooking oil, fat, butter, etc. in the sewer will clog sewer pipes and cause backups into resident’s homes, possibly your own.

 Maryvale Road
 Sheighla Drive
 Phyllis Avenue
 Douglas Avenue
 Leroy Drive

Sewer blocks can also happen when disposing of wet wipes in toilets. We highly discourage disposing of wipes in the sewer system as they do not break down like toilet paper. These items should be disposed of properly by throwing them in the trash.

If you have any questions, please contact the DPW office at 781-270-1670

There is currently a water-main break in the Winnmere neighborhood. All water service south of I-95 is currently shut off. The water department is working to fix the break as quickly as possible and the workers will not leave until water is restored.
