Burlington Police Arrest Man for Indecent Exposure at Springwood Park

On August 30, 2026, at approximately 6:59 p.m., Burlington Police officers responded to Springwood Park in reference to reports of a naked man.

Upon arrival, officers quickly located the man next to the soccer fields and identified the individual as Miguel Angel Muniz, a 48-year-old male of Burlington, NC. As a result of the investigation, officers determined the conduct occurred in view of minors participating in activities at the soccer fields. No physical contact was reported. Muniz was subsequently charged with:

• Felony Indecent Exposure
• Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child
• Transporting an Open Container of Alcohol in a Vehicle

Muniz was indefinitely trespassed from all City of Burlington Parks and was transported to the Guilford County Detention Center, where he received no bond due to the nature of the charges.

Initial bonds are set by a Magistrate and are subject to modification at any time by order of the Court.

Vehicle Break-In and Stolen Firearm Arrest

On August 29, 2026, at approximately 4:15 a.m., officers with the Burlington Police Department responded to the 1900 block of Sinclair Trace in reference to reports of an individual breaking into vehicles.

911 reports provided officers with descriptions of the suspect. Upon arrival, officers located Delacy Miles, a 20-year-old male of Greensboro, NC, with a handgun in his possession. Officers determined that at least one vehicle had been broken into, and the handgun was confirmed to be stolen.

As a result of the investigation, Miles was arrested and charged with:
•Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle
•Possession of a Stolen Firearm
•Simple Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance
•Carrying a Concealed Gun

Miles is currently being held at the Alamance County Detention Center in lieu of a $30,000 bond.

Initial bonds are set by a Magistrate and are subject to modification at any time by order of the Court.

Shooting into Occupied Dwelling - Arrests

On August 29, 2026, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers with the Burlington Police Department responded to a home in the 2300 block of May Drive in reference to a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located Matthew Dale Thompson, 53, in the driveway of the residence. Thompson complied with officers’ instructions and was taken into custody without incident. Following the investigation, officers located a firearm in Thompson’s possession and illegal drugs inside the residence. As a result of the investigation, the following arrests and charges were made:

Matthew Dale Thompson, a 53-year-old male, was charged with:
• Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
• Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property
• Discharging a Firearm within the City Limits

Christopher Edward Stamps, a 39-year-old male, was charged with:
• Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

No injuries have been reported from the shooting, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. Thompson and Stamps were both denied bond and are currently being held at the Alamance County Detention Center.

Initial bonds are set by a Magistrate and are subject to modification at any time by order of the Court.

We are aware of a video and ongoing discussions on social media regarding the search for Mr. Aamari Daeshawn Eubanks, and we share the public’s deep concern about wanting to find Mr. Eubanks in good health.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Aamari Daeshawn Eubanks was last seen operating a silver 2000 Toyota Avalon leaving the 100 block of Wilkins Road in Haw River, North Carolina. Mr. Eubanks was 28 years of age at the time of his disappearance and is described as a black male, 5’7” tall, and weighing around 190 lbs.

He was last known wearing a black jacket with a bleach stain, black jogger pants, and black and white Adidas tennis shoes. Mr. Eubanks was reported missing to the Haw River Police Department, and he is currently still entered as a missing person.

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, the Burlington Police Department Communications Center received information that a vehicle was in a heavily wooded area near Sharpe Road, where officers located the 2000 Toyota Avalon Mr. Eubanks was driving. The vehicle was abandoned.

To protect the integrity of the investigation, we are unable to disclose any information, evidence, or internal search processes for Mr. Eubanks. However, we can disclose that our department continues to work diligently and remains fully committed to following all credible leads.

Public support is vital to solving cases like these that provide limited information to investigators. Our department has been in direct contact with Mr. Eubanks' family and will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available. Anyone with relevant information, video footage, pictures, or any other evidence about Mr. Eubanks' disappearance should immediately contact the Burlington Police Department at 336-229-3500 or call the Alamance County-Wide Crimestoppers line at 336-229-7100.
