Learning came to life outdoors at HBT! 🌿🐞

In late May, Ms. Linder and fellow 2nd grade classes participated in Nature Day, exploring the outdoors through scavenger hunts, hands on measuring activities, and interactive learning experiences.

Students also heard from special guests from the Forest Preserve District of Kane County who shared information about local animals and insects, helping bring nature even closer to home.

A fun day filled with curiosity, discovery, and learning in the great outdoors! 🌞

🌪️ One student. Five years. 169 bracelets.

As she wrapped up her time at Howard B. Thomas, 5th grader McKenna Kocher wanted to leave something behind.

Using every Twister-a-thon bracelet she earned from kindergarten through 5th grade, McKenna created a special tornado themed piece of artwork to donate to HBT — a tribute to the memories, milestones, and school spirit she built along the way.

In all, the piece includes 169 bracelets, each representing laps completed over the years.

What a creative and meaningful way to leave her mark. 💙

For the first time since before COVID, Lily Lake brought back its morning science experiment stations — and this year’s 5th graders helped lead the way for younger students.

Before the school year came to a close, Central High School celebrated students in its Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program during a special pinning ceremony — and the results speak for themselves. 🩺

Of the 11 students in the program, 9 had already completed state testing with an impressive 93% mean test score, with additional results still to come.

These students are leaving CHS with real world healthcare experience, industry credentials within reach, and the skills to make a difference in the lives of others.

Congratulations to our future healthcare professionals on an incredible accomplishment! 💙

The 8th graders and staff faced off in a Students vs. Staff Volleyball Game on the final day of school, bringing plenty of energy, laughs, and school spirit to the celebration.
