🏫To Burlington's students, parents, guardians, school staff & educators:
Welcome back to school.

As you head back to the classroom, we’re wishing everyone a safe and successful school year. We want to share an especially big thank you to the crossing guards who help our kids get to and from school safely everyday.

🚸 Want to join the crossing guard team? It is our Traffic Team's pleasure to run this program and they're looking for additional crossing guards! It’s a great way to serve your community, support local families, and help make the trip to school safer. Visit https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/crossingguards to learn more about the position, schedule and apply today!

🚧You may also notice a smoother walk to school this fall in a few areas. Over the summer, DPW crews and contractors have been busy reconstructing sidewalks around the city and improving accessibility. We have 3 miles planned (thanks in large part to Town Meeting Day 2025 voters who approved an important infrastructure bond) with a few more segments to go before the construction season wraps up.

👷 See something that needs short-term attention? Potholes, urgent sidewalk repairs, traffic sign issues can all be reported directly on See Click Fix. Visit burlingtonvt.gov and click See Click Fix to make your report.

🔻As the school year begins, please slow down, stay alert, share the road and look out for one another — especially around schools, crossings, and places where people are walking and biking.

Here’s to a great school year, Burlington!
