DAY 2 IS HERE!

The first-day excitement is still going strong! We’re sharing even MORE first-day-of-school photos today, and we’re loving every single one.

It may be extremely hot outside, but that hasn’t slowed down the smiles, the excitement, or the start-of-a-new-school-year energy!

A huge THANK YOU to all the families who have sent in photos so far. Keep them coming—we want to see those first-day smiles, school spirit, new backpacks, and all the moments that make the start of a new school year so special!

🎉 THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS HERE! 🎉

And just like that… the halls are filled with smiles, the buses are rolling, classrooms are buzzing, and the 2026–2027 school year is officially underway!

Not all of our students started today, so we’ll be celebrating First Day moments all week long! Whether it’s a big smile at the bus stop, a proud first-day pose, or a little one walking through the school doors, we want to see it!

As we begin a new year, let’s remember that every day is an opportunity to Be a Good Human — be prepared, be respectful, be logical, be involved, and be resilient.

Good morning, BASD families! The countdown is officially over! In just a few hours, our doors will open, the halls will fill with energy, and a brand-new school year will begin. We are so excited to welcome our students and staff back for an incredible year of learning and growing together.

DRIVEN welcomes Class of 2030 to BHS during Freshmen Break In on Wednesday, Aug 26th.

Over 100 DRIVEN student leaders at Burlington High School welcomed the incoming freshman class with a series of team-building activities and firsthand advice for a successful first year. It was a successful kickoff to the BHS Open House for parents and students alike.

One of the most valuable things we can do for our educators is give them opportunities to step outside the classroom and experience the world our students will enter after graduation.

As part of our ongoing commitment to building and strengthening our already robust partnerships with local businesses, our staff had the pleasure of visiting 11 incredible businesses in our community. These visits provided our teachers with firsthand opportunities to see the skills, technology, teamwork, innovation, problem-solving, and career opportunities that are happening right here in our own backyard.

Most importantly, these experiences help our educators make meaningful connections between what students are learning in the classroom and what is happening in the private sector. When our teachers understand the skills and expectations of local employers, they can bring those real-world connections back to their students and help them see the purpose and possibilities behind their education.

We are incredibly fortunate to have businesses and community partners who recognize that strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand. Your willingness to partner with us helps our educators grow, gives our students a clearer picture of future opportunities, and strengthens the connection between education and the workforce.

We’re back—and it’s been a busy week at BASD!

Our staff have been hard at work preparing for the 2026–2027 school year through professional development, trainings, classroom prep, collaboration, and plenty of behind-the-scenes work to get ready for our students.

We’ve also been looking ahead—working on our strategic plan and exploring ways to integrate career pathways into our curriculum to help connect learning today with opportunities for tomorrow.

A huge thank you to all the families who joined us for Open Houses on Wednesday! It was fantastic to see our buildings filled with excitement and anticipation for the year ahead!

We’re ready, we’re excited, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back starting September 1, 2026!
