September is National Su***de Prevention Month. All month, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote su***de prevention awareness.
Su***de is a major public health problem with far-reaching social, emotional and economic consequences. It is estimated that there are currently more than 700,000 su***des per year worldwide, and we know that each su***de profoundly affects many more people.
We can all help prevent su***de. Every year, the Lifeline and other mental health organizations and individuals across the U.S. and around the world raise awareness of su***de prevention during September, National Su***de Prevention Month.
Su***de Prevention month is especially important to us here at the Burlington Township Police Department, as our officers were directly impacted by its effects just last year. We encourage anyone who is struggling with mental health to reach out for help. The Burlington Township Police Department is proud to support and bring awareness to su***de prevention.
