The 2016 Democratic Party global presidential primary for Democrats Abroad took place on March 1–8, 2016. E-mail, fax, and postal voting were carried out from January 11 to March 8, while in-person voting took place from March 1–8. Results were released on March 21.

After repeated attempts to reach out to Our Revolution for creation of a chapter, but having received no adequate response, I am changing the name of this to 14th Colony, because Americans living abroad are equivalent to the 14th largest populous state (between the size of the State of Washington and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts).

Furthermore, Bernie Sanders, who this page supported in his 2016 Presidential bid, is from Vermont, which was disputed territory during the period when the British occupation recognized Thirteen Colonies; Vermont became the fourteenth state to join the nation.

The page will continue to be for organizing Democrats and people who vote or run as Democrats to increase voter participation from Americans living overseas.
