🚤 SLOW-NO-WAKE NOTICE — BROWNS LAKE 🚤
The Town of Burlington would like to advise all boaters and residents that Browns Lake will go SLOW-NO-WAKE at 7:30 PM on Saturday, July 25th to allow for the fireworks setup for Venetian Fest.
The slow-no-wake restriction will be lifted at 10:00 AM on Sunday, July 26th.
All vessels must operate at slow-no-wake speed during this time. Please plan accordingly, watch for crews working on the water, and give them plenty of room.

The Spark Squad Lemonade Stand Challenge kicks off tomorrow, and our teams are ready to make a difference!

Join us as Blaze, Cyclone, Tide, and Volt compete to raise money for local organizations that positively impact our community. Every cup of lemonade purchased helps support a great cause while encouraging teamwork, leadership, and service among our students.

🌳 Storm Cleanup Update – Town of Burlington Highway Department
Good news! Our Highway Department crews have completed brush cleanup in the lake areas. Thank you for your patience as they worked through the affected streets.
Debris Drop-Off:
The collection site will be open today until 2:30 PM and tomorrow, Saturday, July 11th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for residents to drop off storm debris.
⚠️ Please note: The site is for storm debris only — branches, limbs, and other tree debris. No garbage, household waste, or construction materials will be accepted.

🌳 Storm Cleanup Update – Town of Burlington Highway Department
This week, our Highway Department crews will be concentrating on the streets between Fish Hatchery Road and Honey Lane for trees that have fallen within the right of way, as this area has the majority of the downed trees. We appreciate your patience as crews work through the affected areas.

🚧 Bohner Dr Repaving Project Update 🚧
Reminder to all residents and drivers: Bohner Dr is CLOSED to through traffic.
Paving is scheduled to begin Monday, June 29, weather permitting. If conditions don't cooperate, we'll provide an updated start date as soon as possible.
Please plan alternate routes and avoid the area during construction. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our roads—thank you for bearing with us!

Accurate Appraisal will be out in the Town of Burlington tomorrow doing field work.
Assessors will be in the area to review properties. Notices of inspection were mailed to the property owners affected, and there's additional information noted in those letters.

🇺🇸 Independence Day Flag Raising — Friday, July 3rd at 9:00 AM 🇺🇸
Join us at the Town of Burlington Hall (32288 Bushnell Road) as we kick off the 4th of July weekend with a special flag raising ceremony!
A brand new flag, donated to the Town, will be raised by the Scouts of Troop 334, with a presentation of colors, the Star Spangled Banner, a patriotic song by a featured vocalist, and a salute from the VFW Honor Guard.
Following the program, a flag retirement ceremony will be held at the Veteran Memorial and flag retirement site adjacent to Town Hall.

💧 Browns Lake Dredging Update — June 2026

We have some good news for lake residents this summer! After meeting with their contractor, the Browns Lake Sanitary District has made adjustments to improve boat access throughout the season.

Here's what you need to know:
- Now through end of August: Dredging continues in the open water areas of the inner lake.
- September–October: Work shifts to the shoreline — piers can be removed starting in September! 🚤
- New this year: All dredge pipes will be submerged (except directly behind the dredge), allowing use of most of the lake outside the active dredging area.
- Project completion: All dredging expected to be done by November. ✅

⚠️ Safety reminder: Please stay at least 300 feet from dredging equipment at all times.

🚨 Notice for Boaters on Brown Lake 🚨

As of Monday, May 25, 2026, Brandy Bay will be Slow No Wake due to dredging operations in the area. Please use caution, watch for equipment and workers, and reduce speed when entering the bay.
