Mark your calendars, May 4th in the City of Burlington is now Firefighter Appreciation Day! A big thank you to Councilor Litwin for bringing this resolution forward and to every member of the council who voted unanimously to pass it. While our members don’t do this work for the spot light, it’s nice to hear the kind words from the councilors recognizing the sacrifices our members make and the risks they are willing to take to serve the City of Burlington.

The BFFA is once again endorsing councilor Evan Litwin for city council. Evan has been a vocal advocate and supported our members and the FD.

Probably the endorsement I am most proud of. When I think about the work and commitment these folks make every day for our community, it feels like a humbling privilege to earn their respect. Thank you Burlington Firefighters Association Local 3044 supporting me since day 1.

This morning at 0730, Lieutenant Phil Luedee completed his final shift with The Burlington Fire Department. First joining BFD in 2001, Lieutenant Luedee served the citizens of Burlington for over 25 years, spending much of his time as an officer at Station 3 in The Hill Section of the city. Many of BFD’s firefighters and officers looked up to Lieutenant Luedee for always doing the right thing, having a strong work ethic and having a positive attitude no matter the time of day or type of call he was responding to. We would like to congratulate Lieutenant Luedee on his retirement and hope he saves some fish for the rest of the fishing enthusiasts out there.

🎤 Featured Speakers: Steven Shaffer (Boston Fire), Steve Barton (Manchester Fire), and Daniel Madrzykowski (FSRI).
🎟 $100 (Includes certificate, breakfast, and lunch).
