Did you notice some activity on County Road JB near the Fox River on Monday night? The Town of Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department was out doing some pumping training. Since our district does not have fire hydrants we have to rely on pulling water from a static water source like a river, lake, etc. At the same time we got test the pumping capabilities of Engine 6614. By doing this we were able to pull water up about 18 feet.

Training like this helps prepare our crews for rural fires, large incidents, and any situation where dependable water supply is essential. Proud of our members for continuing to train hard and stay ready to serve our community.

Did you notice there was some members training on our ladder apparatus 6633? Monday evening we spent the evening sharpening our skills with gathering familiar with Truck 6633. From positioning and stabilizing to mastering aerial operations, every detail matters when seconds count.

Operating a truck isn't just about moving a big piece of apparatus - it's about precision, awareness, and teamwork. Whether it's getting the best angle for rescue, setting up for deaconing, or setting up for ventilation, training like this keeps us ready for whatever comes our way. Members also got to climb the ladder fully extended (75') at a 70 degree angle!

Proud of the crew for putting in the work and continuing to push for excellence. Stay safe out there.🚒🔥
