Burnet County is under a Flood Watch from 7PM Friday evening through 7PM Monday.

Soils across Burnet County are saturated which means any rain we get will run off into area creeks, rivers, and streams and can easily resul in flash flooding.

- Never drive through flooded low water crossings or roads: TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN
- Have evacuation routes identified to get to higher ground, if necessary

Hill Country Humane Society Low-Cost Spay & Neuter MASH Program

As of May 5th, Burnet County has brought in 145 intakes.

This contract year Hill Country Humane Society has also taken in 325 cats directly from the public. Those cats were vetted, spayed or neutered, and adopted out using community raised funds and donations (not intake numbers).

HCHS has already completed more than 1,200 spay and neuter surgeries this calendar year through our MASH program, which is a record-breaking number for our organization! We are incredibly proud of the impact this program is making, and we know this work is one of the most important ways we can reduce future shelter intake.

Access to affordable spay and neuter services is one of the most effective tools we have to prevent unwanted litters, reduce the number of animals entering the shelter, and support pet owners before they are in crisis. Every surgery completed is one step toward fewer homeless animals in our community.

Please see flyers for more information about the MASH Program.
