The Town of Burns Harbor is a small community that has everything from heavy industry to small farms. The town also has interstate highways and railroads both freight and passenger lines that travel between the City of Chicago and the East Coast.

Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and continue through this evening, ending overnight for areas southeast of Interstate 80. The main threats are large hail and flooding for areas north of I-80. All severe weather hazards are possible along and south of Interstate 80, including the possibility for strong tornadoes.
