STORM UPDATE 8/22/26

NIPSCO has restored power throughout town.

The grapple truck has been making its way through town picking up large tree debris and will go back around town while we have it until mid-September.

Public Works employees will continue picking up minor tree debris.

Residents may take tree debris to the town property on Westport.

**The town's LARGE GARBAGE DAY is scheduled for Thursday, September 17.**

A dumpster is available at the Street Department through the weekend for FOOD WASTE ONLY.

All town offices and buildings have phone and internet, and are open to the public during business hours.

No change to the list of neighborhoods with power restored.

The grapple truck has been on Stanley, Coan, Castle, Haglund, Wahl, Lively, McCoy, South Boo, Corlin’s Landing and Trail Creek picking up bulk material. It will move to Parkwood Estates and Harbor Trails next. next. It will keep going and making rounds through town while we have it.

Residents may take tree debris to the town property on Westport.

A dumpster is available at the Street Department through the weekend for FOOD WASTE ONLY.

STORM UPDATE 8/20/26 PM

Power has been restored to Lively Lane, McCoy, South Boo, and West North Boo Road.

All 6 lift stations have power.

The grapple truck has been on Stanley, Coan, Castle, Haglund, Wahl, Lively, McCoy and South Boo picking up bulk material. It will move to Corlin’s Landing, Trail Creek and Parkwood Estates next. It will keep going and making rounds through town while we have it.

STORM UPDATE 8/19/26 PM

Power has been restored to Harbor Trails Subdivision and portions of Shadyside Mobile Home Community.

Garbage will pick up tomorrow.

NIPSCO and tree removal crews continue working on West North Boo Road and McCool.

Clean up will continue. The grapple truck will move to Trail Creek and Corlin's Landing on Friday. Crews will be out with the chipper. Residents may take tree debris to the town property on Westport Road.

The dumpster will be available through the weekend at the Street Department for FOOD WASTE ONLY.

All town offices and buildings have phone and internet, and are open to the public during business hours. Residents are welcome to stop in and charge devices, have a coffee and enjoy a snack.

STORM UPDATE 8/18/26 PM

Power has been restored to Rak Road and Wahl Street.

NIPSCO crews and tree removal services were at McCool Road (near Shadyside Mobile Home Community), West North Boo Road, and South Boo Road today.

Clean up continues. Crews used the grapple truck to clear tree debris on Haglund, Coan Street and Stanley Street. The grapple truck will make rounds through town with streets posted nightly. Crews are also out in the chipper. Residents may take tree debris to the town property on Westport Road.

A 15 yard dumpster will be available for FOOD WASTE ONLY. It will be located at the Street Department, 310 Navajo Trail for 7 days or until it is full.

All town offices and building have phone and internet, and are open to the public during business hours. Residents are welcome to stop in to cool off, charge devices, and enjoy complimentary coffee, water, and a variety of snacks.

IDHS' August Disaster Resource Hub is now available. The hub serves as a comprehensive resource center for individuals seeking state and federal assistance and updates related to the severe weather events that began on Aug. 11.

The hub also includes the application for the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF), specifically for Aug. 11 events. Impacted Hoosiers may qualify for emergency aid grants of up to $5,000. This fund is designed to help families secure essential items like clothing and uninsured medical devices while they are displaced from their homes.

A 15-yard dumpster has been ordered from Homewood Disposal this morning, and it will be delivered today (8-18-2026) by 4 pm.

It will be located the town property on Westport Road. **UPDATE** Early Wednesday morning, 8/19/26 the dumpster will be moved behind the Street Dept at 310 Navajo Trail.

It will be available for 7 days or until it is full for FOOD WASTE ONLY.
