Youth Action Committee (YAC) Striking down against drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. We promote healthy choices for teens.

We are a youth-lead committee that is trying to raise the age of onset of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs in Harney County.

We are excited to get YAC up and going again! Our first YAC meeting of the year will be this TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH at 12:00! New Location ~ Burns High School Library! FREE PIZZA AND DRINKS. Come with new ideas :)

Any YAC member that is available to help! We will be distributing the "None before 21" table tents and signs to Burns businesses tomorrow. Meet at the high school at 11. Hope to see a few of you there!

Due to scheduling conflicts, we will not be meeting to put out table tents this Friday, the 18th. We will be shooting for next Friday though. I will keep you posted on times and such, so anyone who is available can help! Thank you!

YAC is ready to have another meeting!!! Our next meeting will be this coming MONDAY January 13th in Crane! Mr. Smith and Conner (the new YAC advisor) will be taking a bus out to Crane! Let's get back to doing prevention in our communities! There is a sign up sheet in the office in Burns, only the first 14 will be able to go due to having limited space on the bus. Our February YAC meeting will be in Burns!

We will resume our YAC committee after the first of the year! We will be scheduling a brief meeting for BHS YAC within a few weeks to meet in the library during lunch to go over some of the new changes! p.s. We have a really exciting and fun trip/retreat in the works for all YAC youth this coming spring ~ more info later!

Due to scheduling conflicts, there will not be a meeting this Monday. We are currently trying to figure out if we will be able to meet this month, considering there is no school on Monday, November 11. We will keep you updated!

Tailgate party tonight! Starting at 5pm in the BHS football field parking lot, there will be free food and drinks, awesome music by Wilson Lei, and face painting! Come get pumped up before the game and support your Burns Hilanders! Hope to see you there!
