Claire McGill Luce grew up on her grandfather’s ranch near Harney City, and she never forgot where she came from. When Burns was getting its first real library, she wanted to be part of it. Her $30,000 endowment has grown to over $3 million today and contributes to the county each year to support the library.

You can read her full story on our blog: harneycountylibrary.org/blog/clairemcgillluce 📚
