Last saturday Burns Fire Department, Hines VFD, Burns Paiute Wiland Fire and Oregon State Fire Marshal attended Fire wise. A community event held at the Big R parking lot. Firewise events are a community-focused gathering designed to help residents prepare for wildfire season.

The Juntura school students, teachers and families came to the Burns Fire and Police departments for a fun exciting BBQ and tour. We would like to thank Burns Paiute Tribal Fire, Harney District EMS, Burns Police, Hines Police and Harney County Sheriffs office for attending and helping out! Everyone had a blast touring the station, Emergency vehicles and participating in the activities!

Yesterday was Emergency Vehicle day at the Harney County Early Childhood Center. Burns Fire Department, Burns Paiute Tribal Fire, Hines Fire Department, Burns police Department and Hines Police Department attended the event. The kids toured all of the emergency vehicles and sprayed water. Everyone had a blast! Looking forward to next year!

This week May 17- 23 2026, is National EMS week. We honor the EMT's and Paramedics who provided life saving services on the front line. Thank you for all that you do!

The thin white line flag is a modified American flag symbolizing support for the Emergency Medical Services personel, including EMTs and Paramedics. The thin white stripe represents the purity, selflessness, and relentless effort of these first responders in times of crisis.
