🌑 SET YOUR ALARMS: The "Blood Moon" is coming Tuesday morning! 🌑
Early on Tuesday morning, March 3rd, we are in for a treat! The only Total Lunar Eclipse of 2026 is happening right over our heads. This is when the Moon passes into Earth's shadow and turns a deep, "bloody" red.

Since it’s happening in the pre-dawn hours, you’ll want to look toward the West-Northwest as the Moon sinks toward the horizon.

Here is the schedule for Central Standard Time (CST):

✅ 3:50 AM – The Partial Eclipse begins (you’ll see a "bite" taken out of the Moon)
🔴 5:04 AM – TOTALITY BEGINS. This is the main event! The Moon will turn a dusty red/orange
📍 5:33 AM – Maximum Eclipse (the deepest point of the shadow)
⚪ 6:02 AM – Totality Ends (the Moon starts returning to white)

Viewing Tips:
Best Viewing: The best viewing window is between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. CST.
Location: The moon will be low in the western sky.
Visibility: The entire event is visible, but in some areas, the moon may set while in the partial phase.

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® is the world’s largest shared reading experience, uniting millions to read the same book on the same day and raise awareness of early literacy. Now in its 20th year, this initiative connects caring volunteers with children to read aloud and distribute high-quality books, building foundational literacy skills and home libraries.

See Marcus Grow is a vibrant picture book that introduces young readers to the wonders of gardening while exploring themes of curiosity, discovery, nurturing and growth. In this story, the young character named Marcus learns from his grandmother in her garden. The book beautifully illustrates the parallel between plant care and human development, sharing the wisdom that both children and seedlings need “water and air and sunshine. And space to grow.”

"What an astonishing thing a book is. It's a flat object made from a tree with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles.
But one glance at it and you're inside the mind of another person, maybe somebody dead for thousands of years.”

— Carl Sagan
