Yesterday, Burnsville Rotarians served a free hot dog lunch to families attending the Burnsville Kids Safety Camp at North River Hills Park! 🌭☀️

It was a great day of community, learning, and fun as kids explored important safety topics while families connected with local organizations and first responders. We’re proud to support events that help keep our community strong, safe, and connected.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for lunch and to all the volunteers and partners who helped make the day such a success!

“Matt brings a people-centered leadership style, a strong commitment to safety and a clear focus on supporting both the organization and the community we serve,” said City Manager Gregg Lindberg.

Chief Smith is known for his collaborative leadership, operational experience and commitment to community engagement and officer well-being.

“I’m honored to serve as Burnsville’s next police chief,” Smith said. “I look forward to working with our officers, staff and community partners to strengthen trust and continue delivering responsive, high-quality service.”

Last night, we celebrated a remarkable milestone: 50 years of service, leadership, and community impact for the Burnsville Rotary Club!

A heartfelt thank you to Club President Todd Jorgensen for guiding us through an evening brimming with laughter, heartfelt stories, and meaningful reflections on Rotary’s enduring legacy.

Founded in 1976, our club has spent five decades bringing people together to serve Burnsville and beyond. We were especially honored to celebrate with charter member Doug Stevens, one of only two remaining charter members in our club today. What an incredible connection to our beginnings.

We were delighted to welcome Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth B. Kautz to the festivities. Our gratitude also goes out to friends from Rotary District 5950, MN, Eagan Rotary Club, Burnsville Breakfast Rotary, and the families and friends of Burnsville Rotarians, whose presence made the evening truly unforgettable.

A big thank you to Atomic Beat for electrifying the night with high-energy 80s hits that kept everyone dancing. Special applause to Burnsville Rotarian and Atomic Beat member Ali Awad for laying down those unforgettable bass grooves!

What a fun night to celebrate the Burnsville Rotary legacy. Here’s to the next 50 years of “Service Above Self!”
