On Friday May 1, 2026, members of Edgewood Valley Country Club celebrated owning and operating their property for exactly 100 years at 7500 S. Willow Springs Road in Burr Ridge, Ill. The original golf course and Clubhouse opened on May 1, 1926 after the Club had moved from La Grange.
In the fall of 1924, after selling their previous land, the membership voted in favor of purchasing their current land, which was the 184 acre Willis Ward Farm at the time. A month later, the Club signed a contract with William Diddel to construct the golf course and the work began in the spring of 1925. On May 1, 1926, the new Edgewood Valley Country Club golf course and chalet-style Clubhouse opened to the membership. The new course was touted as being “several strokes harder” than the old course.
The Club celebrated its anniversary with a rededication ceremony at the first tee and a 1920s-themed party to replicate what the membership did in 1926, calling the event “100 Years in the Valley.”
