Today, the Burton Rotary Club had the privilege of welcoming Jennifer Strygulec from the Center of Hope, an organization that embodies compassion and kindness, touching lives in our community. It was truly inspiring to hear her remarkable journey of transforming her passion into a mission to genuinely serve others, driven by her and her husband's unwavering dreams, sacrifices, and faith, as she aptly put it, “to not just put a bandaid on their problems”. This journey began from humble beginnings, evolving into a life of selfless service.

Key Services provided by Center of Hope include:

- Food Pantry: 'Free Choice Market' where guests can select their own groceries, Baby Closet: Providing diapers, formula, clothes, and equipment.

- Life Skills Training: Empowering classes in cooking, budgeting, resume writing, and parenting, Emergency Housing: Developing safe havens for women and children in crisis.

- Pregnancy Resource Center: Offering support and resources for pregnant individuals, Household Goods: Distributing essential items to those in need.

We will award two - $1,000.00 scholarships to Seniors who reside in Burton, MI or will graduate in 2026 from a high school Located in Burton Michigan including: Atherton, Bendle, Bentley, Kearsley, Genesee Christian, Madison Academy, Center Point Christian Academy, St. Thomas More Academy The deadline to apply is May 1st and we will announce the scholarship winner on May 15th, 2026. Thank you to everyone that came out to support the Burton Rotary Club at our annual bowling fundraiser on Friday. We were able to enjoy a fun evening of bowling, friends and fun while raising money for or scholarship program! We can’t wait for next year!

A reminder we have a regular lunch meeting on Thirsday at Sharky's Sports Bar. Our speaker will be Leigh LaForest from the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce. She'll be sharing many things that the chamber does to promote business as well as the things they do in the community.
Also, If you have sponsorships or ticket sales for our upcoming Bowling Fundraiser you can bring them in.
Bundle up and we'll see everyone tomorrow!
