ATHERTON’S GOT SOME NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!

Ms. Goldberg is our new AJSHS Special Education teacher.

Something Ms. Goldberg is looking forward to is building relationships with staff and students that will last a lifetime.

What inspired her to become an educator was to be the teacher that believed in her when she was a student.

One thing she hopes her students remember about being in her classroom is that she always has their backs and will support them.

A fun hobby Ms. Goldberg has is visiting Lighthouses in Michigan during the summer. She has visited almost 20 in the lower peninsula alone!

Three words to describe Ms. Goldberg are: enthusiastic, dedicated, and (almost) organized.

ATHERTON’S GOT SOME NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!

Ms. Martin is our new Kindergarten teacher.

Ms. Martin is looking forward to getting to know the staff and becoming a part of the community.

Making an impact and her long history of working with and taking care of children is what inspires her as an educator.

One thing she hopes her students remember about being in her classroom is that she cares about their success and wellbeing. She hopes that they have a fun time and enjoy themselves.

A few fun facts about Ms. Martin is that she did band, choir, and theatre for most of her life, she can play several instruments, and she loves to sing!

Three words to describe Ms. Martin are: empathetic, passionate, and creative.

ATHERTON’S NEWEST TEAM MEMBER!

Mr. Carter is our new Elementary PE teacher.

Mr. Carter is looking forward to meeting all of the staff, parents, and students involved with Atherton. He looks forward to spreading positivity and good health to everyone.

Spending time and teaching the next generation is what really inspires Mr. Carter as an educator. He enjoys helping others and want to impact others’ lives.

One thing he hopes his students will always remember about being in his classroom is that it is a fun and safe place.

A fun fact about Mr. Carter is that he has been playing soccer for 20 years and he has played every position!

Three words to describe Mr. Carter are: Caring, energetic, and joyful.

ATHERTON’S NEWEST STAFF MEMBERS!

Mrs. Dittenber is our new 4th grade teacher.

During her first year of teaching at Atherton she is looking forward to building relationships with her students and finding her stride as an educator.

She was inspired to become an educator when she was in middle school and would go back to her daycare and help the younger kids with their homework.

One thing she hopes her students remember about being in her classroom is that she always gave them the space to try their best without fear of being wrong.

A fun fact about Mrs. Dittenber is that she got married this summer after being with her husband since middle school! She and her husband also have a pet African Dwarf Frog named Puddles.

Three words to describe Mrs. Dittenber are: compassionate, joyful, and hardworking.

NEW TO THE ATHERTON TEAM!

Mrs. Kaiser is our new K/1 multiage teacher.

She is looking forward to meeting all the new students, staff, and sharing her love of learning.

Watching students have their “lightbulb” moments and helping them love school is what inspires her as an educator.

One thing she hopes her students will remember about being in her classroom is that they are always loved. She may be tough, but it’s because she loves them. She keeps her expectations high and her tolerance low.

A fun fact about Mrs. Kaiser is that she loves reading and fitness and incorporates them into teaching as much as possible.

Three words to describe Mrs. Kaiser are: tough, loving, and creative.

⭐️Our New AES Learning Lab is off to an Exciting Start!⭐️

Our 6th graders have already made their first visit to the Learning Lab!

They came together to build curiosity, share ideas, and strengthen their math vocabulary as they learned alongside one another.

What an exciting way to kick off our Learning Lab journey! We can’t wait to see the thinking, collaboration, and learning that will continue to grow throughout the year!
