Educating the community about the local history of our town Burton.Michigan ( formerly Burton Township for 117 years under Flint postal mailing), that started out as Atherton Settlement in 1835 from the Atherton family that moved here from New York and daughter Betsy Atherton that started the 1st school in the area in 1836 which is still serving the community today. Teaching the children how farmers and lumbermen in a small community can grow to a town of 30,000 citizens currently.
