Quiet conditions tonight with temps in the upper teens to mid 20s. Snow moves in by midday Friday and will continue into Saturday. Slippery road conditions will be possible during the Friday evening commute. With an increase in snowfall totals further north, the Winter Weather Advisory was expanded to a few additional counties.

While our focus is on Friday and Saturday, we know there is concern and excitement for a storm early next week. While there is potential that next week's storm will be the best storm of the season, there continues to be quite a bit of uncertainty with all of the details. Confidence is increasing that a storm will impact the region as early as late Sunday, but mainly Monday through Tuesday. Snow could linger into Wednesday as well. It is too early to work out snowfall totals and the exact timing as there continues to be many different solutions. Everything needs to line up for there to be significant snowfall across the region.

Please continue to monitor the forecast over the upcoming days as those details become more clear.

There is a potential for a Winter Storm Sunday into Monday. Accumulating snow is likely over portions of central and eastern New York, and north east Pennsylvania. "Heavy" snow accumulations are more uncertain. There is a potential for wintery mix and freezing rain as well.
