We had our annual water fight this morning! Thank you to Luke English with English Towing for donating not one, but two tow trucks to help with our water fight!

We would also like to thank the following departments who had personnel participating: Avon Volunteer Fire Department, Emmet-Chalmers Fire Protection District, and Carthage Fire Dept. Carthage,IL. Lastly, a big thank you to the Fireman’s Ladies Auxiliary for the delicious desserts!

A big congratulations goes to our very own team of Captain White and Firefighter/EMR Weaver for bringing home 3rd place!!

Yesterday, we held our annual golf outing benefiting our fireman’s scholarship. Thank you to all the golfers who participated, and a big thank you to our friends at Shaw Creek Golf Course for once again allowing us to use their facilities.

June was another very busy month for the BFPD. Our personnel ran 67 calls for service throughout the month.

July, however, is on pace to surpass June’s total, as our volunteers have ran 40 calls for service already in this month.

As always, slow down and pull over for emergency vehicles with their lights and sirens activated in the roadway!

Recently we purchased a new Masimo Rad-57 Carbon Monoxide detector. This device allows us to identify carbon monoxide poisoning in both adult and pediatric patients, allowing us to provide better care during emergency situations.

This carbon monoxide detector, which cost over $5,000, was purchased using funds obtained through McDonough Power Co-Op’s Operation Roundup grant and also through memorial donations made to our rescue squad.

We would like to thank those that have made generous donations to our rescue squad along with our friends at Mcdonough Power Co-Op for selecting us as one of the recipients of their Operation Roundup grant!
