The City of Bushnell Street & Alley, Water & Sewer Department is accepting applications for a new employee. The City offers a benefit package with IMRF, partial health insurance, uniforms and other benefits at base rate. All individuals interested in the position may pick up applications at City Hall between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. An approved applicant must have or obtain a CDL license upon job acceptance and live within a 30 minute radius of Bushnell. All applications must be returned by 4:00 p.m. August 26, 2026. The City of Bushnell is an equal opportunity employer.

City of Bushnell Street Department Oil & Chip program 2026. Streets to be oil & chipped are on the west side of town this year. We are asking residents to refrain from parking on the streets so crews can prepare for oil & chipping. We will put signs up a day or two before oil & chipping will begin. A map can be viewed at City Hall in the window. They will start this week or the first of next week.

SOLICITATION OF BIDS FOR
BUSHNELL GM BUILDING
ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT

The City of Bushnell is soliciting competitive bids for the removal of the existing roof and installation of a new roof on Bushnell GM Building located behind 175 Charles Street, Bushnell, Illinois. Interested bidders will make their own personal inspection of the roof and adjoining wall(s) by appointment. Disposal of the old roofing material should be included in ;the bid price. No additional spec sheet will be available. For additional information, contact Joe Fosdyck at (309) 772-2029.

All written bids should be submitted in a sealed envelope and mailed to the City of Bushnell, 138 E. Hail St., Bushnell, IL 61422, no later that August 14, 2026, by 3 o'clock pm. City Council will hold its regular meeting at the City Hall in Bushnell, Illinois on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. and will open and consider all bids at that time. The City Council reserves the right to reject and or all bids.

The successful bidder will be required to enter into a written contract which, together with other assurances of performance, will require that all employees of the successful bidder be paid the prevailing wage established by McDonough County for workers performing the type of work, and that the successful bidder will carry liability, workers' compensation and other appropriate insurance coverages.
