UPDATE
To the Bustins Island Community:
As you are aware, Hurricane/Tropical Storm Lee is making its way north and is going to affect the weather along the Maine coastline this weekend. As a result, the Boat Advisory Committee in conjunction with the Managing Captain and the Board of Overseers is planning the following changes to the Lilly B schedule for Saturday September 16th. Safety for all is at the forefront of these decisions.
After reviewing current weather forecasts including wind and surf advisories, it has been determined that The Lilly B will plan to run Friday September 15th by offering the 11am, 3pm and 5pm from South Freeport to Bustins. The return times to South Freeport will remain at 11:40am, 3:40 pm and 5:40pm. Additionally, all Saturday September 16 runs will still be cancelled due to the wind and surf advisories. The Lilly B will plan to resume scheduled operation on Sunday September 17th. Please understand, during this weather event or for any weather event, any passage is at the discretion of the Captain and Crew. Any delays or cancellations for safety reasons will always be taken seriously. Thank you all for understanding and please remain safe.
Freeport has has been in touch to let us know that the Harbor Master is pulling their boat by Friday afternoon. If there is an emergency on island over the weekend, Islanders must, as always call 911. At this point we will be relying on the coast guard should any emergency call occur. Please use discretion if you are planning on staying on island with the knowledge that emergency services may not be available for you. Again, in any emergency call 911.
Sincerely,
Boat Advisory Committee in conjunction with the Board of Overseers.
