4 more sleeps!!!

This Saturday the Unionville Volunteer Fire Company is proud to host the 2nd Annual Bill Voegler Memorial Training Exercise at BC3 Public Safety Training Facility.

This unique event brings together firefighters, EMS providers, and rescue personnel from across Western Pennsylvania for 12 straight hours of realistic, hands-on emergency response training from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

Established in honor of Bill Voegler's passion for training, mentorship, and the fire service, this event continues to grow each year while strengthening regional partnerships and preparing first responders for the challenges they may face in their communities.

This event carries Bills mission forward by bringing responders together to learn, train, and grow.

We look forward to a night of training, teamwork, and continued learning. See you all Saturday!

Last weekend, some of our firefighters participated and some served as instructional staff in a 24-hour training filled with controlled chaos. The training simulated a shift in a busy firehouse, challenging crews with service calls, rescues, and fire responses while working collaboratively alongside other departments.

Their skills, teamwork, and endurance were put to the test — leaving them exhausted, but smiling while doing something they truly love. Opportunities like this don’t come around often, and we’re grateful for the chance to train, learn, and strengthen the bonds that help us better serve our community.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this training a success.

A few weeks ago, our crew was dispatched to a unique rescue call. We responded to a residence, alongside Wildlife In Need of Rescue (WIN), to help rescue a bird that had become trapped on a gutter.

Thanks to quick teamwork and careful coordination, the bird was safely freed and turned over to the wildlife professionals for care.

Calls like these are a reminder that no calls are ever the same, and we’re always ready to help. 🐦🚒

At 09:25am yesterday, Ladder 3 was dispatched to assist on a house fire with entrapment in Butler City. A second alarm was requested by station 1 for call back of all shifts and full response from station 3. Crews from Stations 1, 3, 38, and 99 worked together, demonstrating teamwork and coordination to carry out successful rescue operations.

While every responder on scene played a critical role, special recognition goes to the call taker and dispatcher at Butler County 911. Their calm, precise guidance provided fire crews with the victims’ exact location, proving instrumental in the outcome of this incident.

This response highlights the importance of coordination at every level—from dispatch to operations.

Our thoughts are with the victim and their family affected by the fire. We wish comfort, strength and a full recovery during this difficult time.
