🚨 **ATTENTION REYNOLDS COMMUNITY!** 🚨
We want to remind all residents about the City of Reynolds Juvenile Curfew Ordinance. Our priority is the safety and well-being of all our youth and the tranquility of our neighborhoods.
Please be aware that the **Reynolds Police Department will be actively enforcing the curfew for all minors 16 years of age or younger.**
**What this means for your children:**
Minors are prohibited from being in public places and buildings, or in any place unsupervised by a parent or guardian, between the hours of **11:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M.** every day.
We encourage you to review the specific exceptions—such as emergency errands, school/entertainment activities, or lawful employment—with your children. These are clearly outlined in the ordinance, and also summarized in our helpful guide below.
**What this means for parents and guardians:**
We need your partnership. It is the responsibility of parents and guardians to ensure their minors are not in violation of the curfew.
⚠️ **Penalties:** Initial violations will result in a **Warning Citation**. Subsequent convictions are subject to significant penalties, including **fines up to $500.00**, up to **30 days in jail**, or both, and potential community labor. Each violation is a separate offense.
Let's work together to keep Reynolds safe and supportive for our families. If you have any questions, please contact the Reynolds Police Department.

From the Office of Sheriff John Sawyer
Taylor County Sheriff’s Office

Taylor County, Georgia is currently under a Flash Flood Watch until 10:00 PM today due to the potential for heavy rainfall and rapidly rising water in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Residents are urged to use extreme caution while traveling throughout the county this evening.

Sheriff John Sawyer and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office want to remind everyone of the importance of the safety message: “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.” Just a small amount of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the roadway, and many flood-related fatalities occur when drivers attempt to travel through flooded roads.

Please avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain, monitor local weather updates, and never drive around barricades or through standing water. If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternate route.

Our deputies and emergency personnel will continue monitoring conditions and responding as needed to keep our community safe.

Stay alert, stay prepared, and please look out for one another.

As we approach Memorial Day, Sheriff John Sawyer and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office ask everyone to take a moment to remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and this great country. Their courage, dedication, and selfless service will never be forgotten.

While enjoying time with family and friends this holiday weekend, whether at a cookout, on the lake, or traveling, please celebrate responsibly. If you choose to drink, do not drive. One bad decision can change lives forever.

Our deputies are here to help keep our community safe. If you need a ride, call a deputy. We would much rather help you get home safely than respond to a tragedy.

From Sheriff John Sawyer and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, we wish everyone a safe and blessed Memorial Day weekend as we honor our fallen heroes.

Sheriff John Sawyer and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office ask the community to join us in keeping one of our Taylor County families in your thoughts and prayers after a devastating house fire this morning.

At approximately 10:00 a.m., emergency crews responded to a residential fire located at 649 Thomaston Highway in Butler. A passerby noticed smoke and flames coming from the home and attempted to contact the resident. By the grace of God, the resident was not home at the time of the fire and was not injured.

Unfortunately, the home and everything inside was a total loss.

The Taylor County Fire Department, Butler Fire Department, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Butler Police Department, and EMS all responded to assist at the scene. During firefighting efforts, at least one firefighter was treated on scene by EMS for heat-related injuries.

The fire remains under investigation at this time, but preliminary indications appear to show the fire was accidental in nature.

Sheriff John Sawyer asks anyone who would like to help this resident during this difficult time to donate living essentials and basic necessities. Donations can be dropped off at the Taylor County Jail in Butler.

Please continue to pray for the resident, the responding firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and everyone affected by this tragic loss.

If you pre ordered we have your shirts. We had a few extras and have filled most of those as well. Keep an eye out for another order. Please don’t comment new orders in this post as they may get overlooked!
