City of Butler Indiana Government The City of Butler is a great community to live, work and play! In the beginning, the city's prosperity was mostly due to the railroad industry.

The City of Butler was founded in 1841, although not named Butler until the time of the Civil War in 1866. Today, the Butler Industrial Corridor includes Air Products, DeKalb Molded Plastics, Heidtman Steel, Magic Coil, MultiMatic, New Millennium Products, Noble Processing, Paragon Steel, Steel Dynamics, ThermaTru, Tri-Wall Containers and a number of companies representing other industries. With many different community activities and attractions, Butler is an exceptional place to live, work and raise a family. The city's growing business community, our top-quality school system, events like the Butler Heartland Show & Festival, and various community organizations make this city a warm, welcoming place!

********Southside Park Info*******

Starting Sunday morning the parking lot at Southside Park will be closed as crews will be onsite applying asphalt sealer to the parking lot. The lot will remain closed until Tuesday morning September 29th. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to do preventative maintenance at our parks.

Wastewater Plant to Maxton Park
South Shore Drive from CR 65 to SR1
